Warnock has until 6pm on 27 October 2014 to respond to the charge. Warnock had alleged that Chelsea players had influenced referee Craig Pawson's decisions during Palace's 2-1 defeat at Selhurst Park.
Warnock's side currently site in 16th place in the Premier League following the defeat, a point above the relegation places.
He took charge of Palace for the second time after former boss Tony Pulis' shock exit just days before the start of season. Warnock had previously been in charge of Palace in the Championship, leading them to the play off semi finals in 2008, but left in 2010 after the club was put in administration.
