Sky Bet League 1 play-offs: Rotherham impose restrictions on home fans.

eNewsletter
Such is the anticipation from Preston fans, their allocation of tickets for the away leg of the Play-off semi-final with Rotherham sold out yesterday in a matter of hours. With demand exceeding supply - Preston were only allocated just over 10% of the New York Stadium for the game,  Rotherham introduced identity checks for home supporters.

A statement on the Rotherham website said: 'We have been made aware of information concerning the potential for some visiting supporters to purchase tickets in the home end for our play-off semi-final against Preston North End.

'The club have therefore taken advice on ticket sales and will limit tickets to a maximum of five per person. Supporters must also be on our database to purchase tickets or if you are a new registration you will need to provide ID which can be either a passport or driving license.

'If you cannot provide either of the above forms of identification, then two utility bills with your current address on will be acceptable.

'We would like to thank our supporters in advance for their co-operation.'

Meanwhile, Preston Season Ticket holders have until Wednesday to take up their ticket for their seat, before tickets are released for general sale.

The two legs are:
Preston North End v Rotherham United

League One Play-Off semi-final first leg, Saturday 10th May 2014, 5.15 pm, Deepdale

Rotherham United v Preston North End

League One Play-Off semi-final second leg, Thursday 15th May 2014, 7.45pm, The New York Stadium
