SPL Aberdeen refused more tickets for final against Inverness

eNewsletter
It was reported in Scotland earlier, that Aberdeen will not be given any more tickets for the Scottish League Cup final, despite selling their allocation.

The Dons have already sold their 40,000 tickets for Sunday's match against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Celtic Park.

The game is not being played at Hampden Park which has a 51,000 capacity, because of preparations for the Commonwealth Games later this year. Celtic Park has a capacity of just over 60,000 which is actually bigger, not just than Hampden Park but also Ibrox.

Aberdeen had asked the Scottish Professional Football League for more tickets to meet the continuing demand, but the request has been declined.

Caley Thistle fans have purchased just 7,000 tickets in comparison.

A spokesman for the SPFL said: "We have spoken to the police and safety officer about releasing seats in the Lisbon Lions Upper however that has been declined."
