Turkish giants Galatasaray have announced the departure of manager Roberto Mancini after nine months at the club.

A statement on the club's website read: "The contract signed on October 1, 2013 between Galatasaray SK and the Football Manager Roberto Mancini has been mutually cancelled as requested by Mr Mancini by the end of 2013-2014 football season."

"Mr Mancini and Galatasaray SK have come to an agreement about the accrued benefits. We would like to thank our former Football Manager for his contribution in the success of our Club and wish him all the best in his career."

The club finished second in the Turkish League last season, as well as reaching the last 16 of the Champions League, where they were knocked out by eventual Semi-finalists Chelsea.

Despite only spending nine months at the club, Mancini leaves with his record for winning a trophy at every club he's managed intact, having won the Turkish Cup last season.
