Chorley record record win to stay top of Evostik Northern Premier League

Chorley FC, who moved back to the top of the Evo-Stik NPL earlier in the week with a 1-0 win over Witton had a more emphatic score-line at Victory Park on Saturday. The Magpies ran out 13-1 winners over bottom side Droylsden - a record for Chorley' senior side.

The win, and the added goal difference keeps them three points clear of FC United of Manchester who had a narrow 1-0 win at Blyth. Before today's games the top two sides had identical goal difference. Chorley now have an 11 goal swing and the two sides meet at Gigg Lane on Tuesday.

The outcome of Tuesday's game could well decide who wins the title and gains promotion to the Conference North next season.

Chorley's scorers were: Jack Dorney (2) Joshua Hine (5) Ben Heneghan (7 OG) Max Cartwright (8) Gerard Murphy (12 OG) Dale Whitham (36) James Dean (44) Darren Stephenson (49) James Dean (52 PEN) Max Cartwright (69) Jack Dorney (81) James Dean (84) Dale Whitham (86)
