In that regard it's fair to say the result of last week's hastily arranged match at Latimer Park was almost incidental to the prime aim of raising vital cash.
In the end the game against Burton Park Wanderers raised almost £9000 for the Trust fighting fund, through a combination of ticket sales, match sponsors, donations, and a pre and post match auction.

The club also received vital support from sponsors: Premier Roofing Systems Limited, Knights of Old Limited, Echo Personnel, and an anonymous national company together with Mosaic Print who produced the tickets.
The match itself saw the hosts play really well against the Poppies for an hour and then four goals in 17 minutes saw the Poppies win the game with Jake Newman scoring twice, and Jonathan Thorpe and Louis Hamilton completing the scoring in front of 308 paying fans.
