At the same time they announced the new kit, the club also announced their delight that outdoor retailer, Blacks, is to be the new shirt sponsor. The same company recently sponsored another club - Oldham Athletic who wear Fila branded kit.
The outdoor specialists’ logo will feature on the new kit, produced by Diadora, and will go on sale in local JD stores (Braehead, Paisley & Silverburn) and online at jdsports.co.uk.
Blacks are the latest addition to the JD Sports Fashion PLC group and offer the best outdoor products from global brands including The North Face, Berghaus, Marmot, Merrell, Salomon, Jet Boil and Mammut, with exclusive lines from Peter Storm to name but a few
Group Chief Executive, Barry Bown, said: “We are delighted to have secured the shirt sponsorship that will see Blacks on the new look kits. JD Sports Fashion PLC has been delighted with the partnership that has been developed since starting our association with the club and we are excited to see the Blacks brand further this as the new shirt sponsors.”
St Mirren Chief Executive, Brian Caldwell, added: “After our cup success last season we are delighted to offer what we see as a very special shirt for the coming season. The work that Diadora have put into this design to incorporate the Paisley print is fantastic and we are sure this will prove to be a big success with the fans.”
