Doncaster Rovers Belles Ladies are now partnered with specialist sports brand JAKO in a 3 year agreement which will see the brand and club combine in a lucrative deal.
Head of UK Operations for JAKO, Glen Wilkinson said “this is a fabulous opportunity for the brand as Doncaster Rovers Belles have a great tradition in the ladies game. They play in the Womens Super League which means our branding will be seen on the pitch against high profile clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool & with the WSL expanding it just seems right”
“In Germany we also partner the Countries famous women’s team FFC Turbine Potsdam from Berlin who play in the German Bundesliga; so it would be great if we can organise a friendly between the clubs at some point in the future.”
Alan Smart Vice Chairman at The Belles said “Having met with the JAKO, seen the kit and listened to their ambitions for the brand it just made sense...... When we met with Paul who came over from Germany and Glen whose UK Operations HQ is out of a Doncaster postcode it just seemed right for both parties.”
Signing up to a 3 year deal The Belles and JAKO are keen to build on the Doncaster Rovers relationship at the Keepmoat with the Red and White home jersey being retained. Excitingly and bringing out the retro spirit of ’69, with the yellow and blue away jersey it is hoped to
re-ignite those halcyon days and have the Belles back winning silverware in the not too distant future.
Belles Manager John Buckley said....... “The kit is top notch – good quality and the girls love it. The heritage thing with the away colours is a really nice touch by JAKO.” When asked about Paul and Glen’s plans for Potsdam and The Belles............. “WOW - Yes that would be nice – they’re a really good team and the quality of Women’s football over the last 10 years since I’ve been involved makes it a mouth watering prospect.”
