Whilst Villa have been in the bottom six virtually all season this is uncharted territory for Stoke, who a month ago looked fairly safe in midtable.
Joe Ross of football betting site www.footyinsider.co.uk says:
'Stoke are in freefall with just one league win since Januray 1st and that was against Reading. Tony Pulis is understandably under pressure from sections of the home support.
'The problem for Stoke is that the goals have dried up, Peter Crouch has been desperately looking for a goal and Jon Walters blows hot and cold.
'In the past the midfield have chipped in with vital strikes but that isn't happening for them.
'Villa are in much better form and look a good bet at 3s to drag Stoke right into the mix.'
Stoke are 14th but only four points above Villa, who are in the bottom three. A win for the away side would drag Stoke into the mix on the crest of a slump which they might find it hard to get out of.
