FA Cup draw as Braintreee miss out on TV pay day

Football News 24/7
Conference South side Chelmsford City will travel to League One outfit Crawley Town in the second round of the FA Cup. The Clarets reached this stage thanks to a 3-1 victory over Essex rivals Colchester United at the Melbourne Stadium yesterday afternoon.

Elsewhere, non-league sides Harrogate Town and Hastings United will do battle, while Cambridge City will face either York City or AFC Wimbledon if they can overcome the MK Dons in a replay.

Spare athought for Braintree - the Conference side would have recived a welcome cash boost from live cameras in the televised game against Tranmere - but it fell victim to bad weather. If they can overcome Tranmere when the game is played they will face Chesterfield at home.

The most interesting clash though is Mick Adams returning to Sheffiled United with his high fying Port Vale side. Adams had a forgettable spell at Sheffield United having left Port Vale originally to go to Bramall Lane a couple of seasons ago.
