UEFA Pro License Coach, Neil McDonald (currently assistant manager with West Ham United) has today launched a coaching scheme aimed at part-time football managers and coaches.
The course will run as a rolling series of evening sessions, with the first three dates July 19th, August 2nd and August 16th already in the diary.
‘The aim is to give managers and coaches, especially those who are part time, a chance to enhance their coaching skills. The sessions are spread over the season and in the evenings as I appreciate many of those it is aimed at also have ‘day jobs’.
‘From my experiences there are key skills and techniques that if passed on to the players correctly can improve a team tremendously. Each of the sessions will concentrate on a separate area and can be used as a self contained lesson or you can take part in the whole series. Full details are on the website.
‘Each session will deal with the topic in a simple and effective way to help the individuals improve their overall coaching skills.
‘Every good coach has to pass on skills and ideas that will improve a player. I hope I can help the people on my course to impart that extra bit of knowledge that will make a difference to that player’s overall game.’
The London sessions will be at West Ham’s Chadwell Heath training ground.
The only qualification for attending is that you currently manage or coach a recognized football team – at any level or players aspiring to be a coach.
