Arsenal has yet to secure the services of Robin van Persie with contract negotiations on hold until the end of the Euro 2012 tournament.
The competition was expected to put the £30m rated player in the shop window but with the Holland side failing to pick up a point it is "Dutch" auction time.
With one year left on his contract at Arsenal, the 30 year old van Persie has been offered a new deal reported to be £130,000 per week to stay at the Emirates but with City boss Roberto Mancini a strong admirer, the power to offer the 28-year-old in excess of £200,000 a week as well as the chance to win the Barclays Premier League is a big hook.
While Arsene Wenger would be reluctant to lose another top quality player to his City rivals, failure to agree terms with his captain would surely mean that if van Persie wants to join the Blues he will.
With Edin Dzeko reportedly leaving City there is a spot free for the Dutchman.
