The Soccerex European Forum to be held at the Manchester Central conference centre on March 28-29 is reported to boost the local economy by ₤1.8m boost. The event is to be promoted by Men Media through the Manchester Evening News and Greater Manchester Business Week.
This is the third consecutive year that the event has been held in the city and thousands of delegates and exhibitors arrive in the city to take part in a series of workshops and discussions about the business of football. Topics for this year will include the impact of new financial fair play regulations being brought in by governing body UEFA and the growth of the sports betting industry.
Paul Simpson, managing director of Visit Manchester, said “We’re now entering the third year of our four year deal with Soccerex as the host of their European Forum. “The convention has been an incredible platform for Manchester to promote itself as a first class business tourism destination. Soccerex is the foremost business to business event for the soccer industry and as the home of football it is entirely appropriate that it takes place here in the city.”
MEN Media head of business Adam Jupp added “We are delighted to team-up with Soccerex as media partner for the European Forum.
“Football plays a huge part in the lives of so many people in the region and makes a huge contribution to the Greater Manchester economy. “That is why there is no better place for the event to be staged than Manchester and we are excited about playing a part in making it a success this year.”
