In 2011 the venues were central London, Birmingham City FC, Sheffield Weds FC and MK Dons FC.
The aim of the events is to give clubs from grass roots to the pro level the opportunity to network with football suppliers in an informal environment.
As Sportsglobal’s MD George Moss explains:
‘The original idea was to give some ourselves a platform to promote our business. The feedback from our commercial partners was very positive and we realised there was a model that worked for all parties.
‘By mixing clubs and businesses in a relatively informal environment gives everyone a chance to network and get something from the day. We have managed to create a nice balance between clubs and business
Joe Miller, General Manager ProAmica Ltd (Part of General & Medical group of companies) said of the latest event:
‘I just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to exhibit at the open day for the Football Trade Directory at Milton Keynes, we found it a very beneficial experience indeed, after our presentation we had a lot of interest in our Sports Healthcare products both insured and Trusts and we picked up some good quality leads with some very important decision makers and as we always find your events, it is always a very beneficial route to market for us and produces a big return on our relatively small investment.’
‘I found my recent visit to the Football Trade Directory exhibition at Sheffield extremely beneficial, any trade show you attend is worthwhile if you find just one new idea or supplier. I was fortunate enough, due to the quality and diverse nature of the exhibitors to arrange follow up meeting and supply deals with two companies and I will undoubtedly attend future events by the Football Trade Directory team.
Warren Bennett, Retail Manager, Preston North End Football Club
