FA Cup: 3rd round draw offers big pay days

Football News 24/7
The 3rd Round of the FA Cup was drawn on Sunday afternoon and as usual it has thrown up some mouth watering ties.

The Cup may not be top of the agenda for the Premier League's top sides these days and winning it is no safe harbour managerially - as Roberto Di Matteo about that one. But, it still offers smaller clubs a financial life-line. Not just the prospect of a big pay day against a top side, but with TV money upwards of £30k and more for a live game, and prize money of £27,000 for winning round 2 ties this weekend, and the money can soon add up.

Teams winning a 3rd round tie will receive £67,500 which is a lot of money for a struggling club.

Fabrice Muamba and Ledley King made The FA Cup Third Round Proper draw:

The most likley money spinner will come from the all non-league Barrow/Macclesfield  tie which was postponed on Saturday. The winners will entertain Cardiff City - finalists themselves recently in what looks a good bet for live TV.

There are four all Premier League ties and West Ham v Man United looks the most attractive of these.
