Having launched the new Fila kit back in May this is the second & final kit to be launched by the Italian heritage brand ahead of the 2012-13 season and is yet another club added to an ever growing list wearing the brand
Carlisle United Managing Director, John Nixon, commented: “We feel this kit provides a fantastic alternative to our home kit and also celebrates a longstanding relationship with Stobart’s. They have been very loyal supporters to the club and with Fila we have produced a quality bespoke kit that will look great on fans and players alike.”
Andrew Tinkler, Stobart Group Chief Executive, added: “We are extremely proud to be associated with Carlisle United and are delighted with the new away kit. This is a lovely gesture by the club and we are extremely grateful to them and Fila who have done a fantastic job designing this. We are very excited to see the kit being worn with pride over the coming season.”
The new away kit will be available both from the club shop and local JD Sports (Carlisle & Workington) from Saturday when the club start their competitive season in the Capital One Cup opener vs. Accrington Stanley.
Established in 1911 by the Italian Fila brothers, few can dispute the Fila heritage. Originally setting out to be a premium manufacturer of knitwear, the brand first launched sportswear in 1973, with the innovation of the first seamless polo shirt. Throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s Fila attained a cult status built on a reputation of producing the finest products worn by some of the greatest athletes.
JD Sports Fashion has recently signed an exclusive licensing deal to produce and sell the Fila sportswear brand. Chairman Peter Cowgill said: “The Fila brand is one of the most recognizable names in sportswear and athletic footwear and has long been known as an authentic sport brand.”
JD Sports Fashion offers exclusive collections from the Best of the Best names that you simply won’t find anywhere else, including exclusive footwear and clothing from Nike, Adidas, McKenzie, Fred Perry, Converse and Lacoste and for juniors there’s the latest range of football-inspired gear from Cabrini.
