The Turf Disease Centre’s Dr Kate Entwistle, STRI’s Lee Penrose and Clark Cox from South Carolina University are the latest confirmed speakers for this year’s IOG ‘Ahead of the Game’ Sports Turf Conference at York Racecourse on Thursday December 6.
They join an array of industry-recognised authorities who will be presenting an education programme that will be unmissable for everyone involved in grounds care.
Kate will discuss ‘Plant parasitic nematodes: the facts and figures’ while Lee, STRI Development Manager, will present ‘An inside view of how the turf care industry delivered the Olympic venues’.
‘Managing an 85,000-seat college football stadium’ is the title of the session by Clark Cox, Sports Turf Manager at the South Carolina University, who will also highlight how his team manages other onsite sports facilities including athletics and baseball.
These presentations complement those being made by FIFA’s Stuart Larman, Mark Camley of the London Legacy Company; Murray Cook, President of Brickman Sports Turf in America; people performance consultant Frank Newberry; and York Racecourse’s Head Groundsman, Adrian Kay, who will discuss how the course has been remodelled.
In addition, there will be a special session on ‘A year in the life of the IOG Young Directors’ and the IOG will launch its new Strategic Vision.
More details of the IOG Conference – which is sponsored by British Sugar Topsoil, Everris and Vitax Supaturf – are available at www.iogawards.com, where you can book your seat at this unmissable event of the year!
