As the 2011/2012 season reaches fever pitch and clubs at all levels fight to save themselves from relegation or desperately seeking to secure that promotion spot – here at Physiological Measurements Ltd, we also swing into our busiest period although our focus is very firmly on the next season 2012/2013!!
Last year we screened in excess of 75 teams across the UK. This year our cardiac screening service has been very firmly put on the map as our Director’s – Jon Pither& Andrew Honeyman were featured in an article by The Sun reporter Dan King, following the collapse of Fabrice Muamba on 17 March 2012.
PML Director Jon Pither said “We have 4 teams of mobile physiologists and a large panel of reporting cardiologists to facilitate a fast turnaround of reports.
We are also the only mobile provider to operate an integrated telemedicine service which means that in the event of an urgent opinion or perhaps in the case of a transfer medical we can make the study and images available over the web to allow immediate reporting, this coupled with our extensive experience and partnering with organisations such as CRY is key to our success."
This incident has highlighted to everyone - not just the sporting fraternity, just how vital it is that regular screening takes place for all players.’
