Financial irregularities hit league leaders

Football News 24/7
The following statement was published earlier today on the Club's official website following earlier reports of financial irregularities on the club website in the days prior. Chorley have been in great form under boss Gary Flitcroft and have lead the Evostik North Prem div for most of the season.

'In response to the serious financial shortfall that the club will now suffer as a result of reported financial irregularities by a member of staff, the directors have injected fifteen thousand pounds of their own money into the club and this amount has been matched by Northern Trust Group Limited the property company based in Chorley.

Northern Trust owns the Victory Park ground and once again the directors of Chorley FC wish to express their sincere thanks for the very substantial support provided by Northern Trust Group Limited over many years and in this particularly difficult situation.

The club still faces a significant shortfall in funds and the directors are calling on the people of Chorley, supporters and local businesses to help them urgently raise further funds to ensure the continued success of the local community football club.  Your help is needed now

Please direct any further queries on this matter to the club's solicitor Mr. Simon Robinson, Kevills Solicitors, Astley House, Park Road, Chorley, PR7 1QS, telephone 01257 265711, e. mail s.robinson@kevills.net'
