Burnley Football Club’s chief executive Paul Fletcher is reported to have submitted his resignation after four years in the role.
Boardroom disagreements are thought to be over the new University College of Football Business at Turf Moor.
The news follows a reported a loss of £4m for the club in the year following relegation from the Premier League. Turnover fell from £45.4m in the Premier league year to £27.4m in the return to the Championship.
It is understood Paul Fletcher will stay on until the end of the season. He was awarded an MBE for services to football in 2007.
