Jon Harris has said he intends to continue his takeover of Wrexham Football Club despite key backer Colin Poole withdrawing from the deal after an argument with fans.
Harris, who is the managing director of the Blue Square Bet Premier side, will now look to find another source of investment but was critical of some fans on supporters’ website Red Passion.
"[Those fans] may think this is a victory but... [they] have once again driven someone away from this club who had the experience and resolve to make a real difference," a statement from Harris said.
Poole, a former Shrewsbury Town chief executive, was thought to be invested a considerable sum into Harris’ takeover although Harris said the deal was ‘not dependant on him’.
Despite having its proposal rejected the current Wrexham owners Ian Roberts and Geoff Moss, the Wrexham Supporters’ Trust insists it will continue with a community share scheme in hope one day taking control of the club.
