Manchester United Football Club’s move to a new London office will only see staff already in the capital relocate from its current Pall Mall offices.
The club’s commercial team will be based at Mayfair, with United reportedly paying rent of around £920,000 per year at £80 per sq ft.
The London office has aided United in meeting prospective sponsors and partners as a more practical location than Manchester, particularly for oversea businesses.
A United spokesman told the Manchester Evening News: "There is nothing going from Manchester, it’s only the people already in London moving to a new address because they have outgrown the old one.
"The office in Mayfair is now more suitable. The deal has only just been signed and the plan is to move into the new office by the end of this year."
The Red Devils recently signed a deal with logistics giant DHL who became an official partner of the club.
