Maidstone United Football Club will not continue its groundshare with Ashford United beyond this season as the club looks to return to Sittingbourne.
The Ryman Isthmian League Premier Division side are cuttenly using The Homelands ground in Ashford for two years but has decided not to extend its stay with the club’s board planning on buiding a 3,000 capacity stadium in the outskirts of Maidstone.
United are also still weaiting to find ourt which league they will be participating in form next season after becoming affiliated with the Kent FA.
Club chairman Erniw Warren said: "We have applied to the Kent League and the new Step 6 but the decision will be made by the Football Association.
"We want to start in the highest position possible but we can’t choose."
