Liverpool Football Club has developed its latest application for the mobile phone market as it looks to engage fans and promote commercial partners.
‘LFC Official Penalty Shootout’, for Apple devices, is the club’s latest iPhone app and first app for the iPad following on from the mobile version of Liverpool’s club store and promotes club sponsors Standard Charter within the game as well as costing £1.19 to purchase.
Liverpool mobile manager Kathy Smith said that the product is one of a number in the pipeline as clubs appreciate the growing importance of mobiles as a communication channel.
"Mobile provides an important channel for fans to engage with the club, not only on match days but for entertainment too, and we look forward to extending our product range to other devices in the near future," Smith said.
The majority of clubs in the Premier League and Football League have at least one iPhone application with many clubs developed as part of their deal with Football League interactive.
