The IOG Saltex exhibition has been lauded as ‘our lifeblood’ by an exhibitor as the specialist show from The Institute of Groundsmanship begins to prepare for its 2011 edition.
Held between 6th-8th September at Windsor Racecourse, Saltex will once again embrace fine turf and football surfaces, turf maintenance equipment, children’s outdoor play and safety surfacing, landscaping, contractors, commercial vehicles, outdoor leisure and facilities management, as well as software and security equipment.
"I value Saltex very highly," Jenkins said. "It is held at a significant time of the year and is a very important event for the sports and amenity industry.
"The event has a very wide remit for grounds managers. Companies like mine need exhibitions. They are our lifeblood. We have to be seen constantly by potential customers and the contacts made at shows are vital for survival."
Jenkins added: "Nobody has to exhibit or attend any show. While I appreciate that the expense can be significant, we as exhibitors have to evaluate that cost against the value of orders taken at the show or as importantly, by staying in front of existing and new customers and contacts."
