Kettering Town Football Club is in discussions to use Nene Park, home of Rushden & Diamonds, chairman Imraan Ladak has admitted.
The Blue Square Bet Premier side’s lease on its Rockingham Road ground runs out in 2013, whilst Rushden & Diamonds has been expelled from the Conference and has been issued a winding-up order.
"We're in negotiations with [Kettering's landlord] Ben Pickering and have been for some time," Ladak said.
"And we're also negotiating with Nene Park," he added, speaking to BBC Radio Northampton.
"The ideal scenario for Northamptonshire would be Rushden & Diamonds playing at Nene Park and us at Rockingham Road until we can build a new stadium. But it looks as if it will be impossible for us to do that, and it's also very tricky for Rushden.
"We signed an option a couple of years ago to play at Corby - but that's not something we're looking to take up."
Rushden had a winding up petition against the club adjourned for 21 days on Monday.
