East Stirlingshire join up with JAKO teamwear

East Stirlingshire FC have joined forces with Jako Teamwear who will become the official kit provider for the 2011/12 campaign.

The German sports brand have teamed up with mail order company Pro Active Teamwear in April this year to become the official distributor and East Stirlingshire become the highest profile club to come on board since Pro Active took control.

The Scottish League Division 3 club will start their new season campaign wearing Jako, who have a massive portfolio of clubs including SK Sturm Graz, SC Heerenveen, (Dynamo Dresden) Hannover 96, FC Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.  The club have chosen a black/white hooped jersey for the home shirt and plain red style for the away kit.

The history surrounding East Stirlingshire is fantastic as they are most famously known as being the very first club to sign Alex Ferguson at the age of 32 years old back in 1974.  His first managerial post on a part time wage of £40 per week.  Ferguson lasted only 117 days at Firs Park before accepting an offer to manage St Mirren.  Later he would go on to achieve huge success at Aberdeen and Manchester United.

Jako have previously been associated with Barnsley, Leicester & Portsmouth (under previous control), but Pro Active are now responsible for introducing the brand back to the UK clubs.  "We have been working very hard to establish the brand again signing Leamington FC, Barton Town, Cleethorpes Town & Brigg but the link with East Stirlingshire is an important one for us and I am extremely proud to be associated with such a historic club" said Glen Wilkinson the UK Sales Director for Pro Active.

"Jako have a massive collection of co-ordinate products including goalkeeper gloves, footwear, under garments and have an exceptional 95% availability rate on the clothing range.  We can introduce these products to our fan base without committing to bucket loads of stock and sales on products such as footwear and gloves can give us additional sales revenue.  Pro Active will manage our club shop on line and supply chain of products which means we can have good cash flow as a business offering efficiency and prompt service.  They are also very experienced with mail order supplies throughout the UK and worldwide so we can supply replica to our fan base effectively" said Secretary, Tadek Kopszywa.

East Stirlingshire have a good solid fan base which includes a Norwegian fanclub and by linking up with Jako through Pro Active it will put the club in a strong position to maximise sales going forward.

Jako will be actively pursuing new clubs in the future months and any interested parties should contact Sales Director, Glen Wilkinson on 01472 210210 ext 105 or email jako@proactiveteamwear.co.uk
