Preparations for The Keele International Cup 2011 have continued with 190 teams confirmed in its youth competitions making the event the UK’s biggest international youth soccer event with about 5,000 participants.
In addition 120 teams and 1,800 participants will play in the adult women's and me's events.
The women start the week of tournament football with their two-day festival on July 23rd – 24th. It is all change on the Monday with the Professional and Select streams of competitions beginning Tuesday 26th and running through to Friday 29th. The stream of Open Competitions begins on Wednesday 27th running through to Saturday July 30th. The Open competitions involve both boys’ and girls’ teams.
Teams from The Premier League, Championship, Football League and Conference are involved and the involvement of Stoke City, Port Vale and Macclesfield will add special local interest.
A spokesman for the Keele Cup said: “We are grateful for this support as we continue the task of building up Britain’s only competitions dedicated to teams at the professional-level. This year’s line-up will help us attract more overseas pro teams for 2012.”
