Non League Dayis the brainchild of James Doe and Mike Bayly, who last year used the opportunity of a weekend without Premier League and Championship fixtures to promote the mon-league game.
With England playing a European Championship qualifier in Bulgaria on the Friday before Non-League Day, the absence of top-flight football makes September 3rd the perfect day to promote grass roots football in 2011.
Further information on the event can be found on the Non-League Day website - www.nonleagueday.co.uk - the 2011 version is due to go live shortly and will point fans to their nearest non-league game that weekend.
It is a concept fully supported by everyone at FTD as Managing Director George Moss comments:
'Grass Roots football struggles to get in the limelight and Non League day does just that. The recent success (reported earlier) of our own Win A Sponsorship competition shows how important it is for the football industry to remember where its roots are.'
