Leamington FC sign kit deal with Jako after Football Trade Directory Open Day success

The Football Trade Directory is celebrating yet another success story after playing a key role in putting a relationship with Leamington Football Club and teamwear brand Jako together.

After meeting up at the FTD’s Open Day at Birmingham City in May, the club and brand organised a meeting to view the range and discuss the away shirt deal for next season.  A deal was agreed and they are now looking to further this relationship by rolling out the home shirt next season and kit out all the junior sides with the same branding.

"Leamington FC are a fabulous club to deal with, they are very well organised and have a good team on the committee that are looking to take the club further.  They have a good business acumen and are dedicated to improvements at the club."  said Glen Wilkinson of Jako Teamwear.

"We met at the FTD Open Day in Birmingham where we initially discussed each other's business ideas and the FTD played a key part in this relationship.  The open day concept is a fabulous networking project which the FTD are looking to develop.  It puts key decision makers together and allows businesses to pitch for potential business in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.  We are looking to link up with the FTD at the next open day to present our branding to more potential clients."

Jako offer a massive collection of co-ordinate products with no minimum order and furthermore all products within the range have a 3 year life expectancy and are 95% available throughout the lifespan.  The jerseys are available in both short and long sleeved and plenty of choice.  The collection allows for clubs to kit out the club shop and not have to invest in bucket loads of stock which in turn ties up cash flow.  The brand also offer additional products which will help boost club shop sales such as boots, goalkeeper gloves, shinguards, under garments and much much more.

Leamington FC Chairman Jim Scott said, "Our relationship with Proactive Teamwear developed as a consequence of our meeting at a Football Trade Directory’s  Open Day in Birmingham.  Following discussions with Glen Wilkinson and viewing of their extensive Jako Teamwear product line we agreed a deal for our 'away shirt' for the forthcoming season.  We have been delighted with their level of service, ranging from design through to delivery.

"The new shirts have been well received by fans and players alike, who rate the kit highly and we are already experiencing a good level of sales as a consequence.

"The Jako Teamwear products are of excellent quality and we have already seen a sharp increase in the level of interest within our club shop following the introduction of other teamwear products.  Equally important is the fact that no order is too small and delivery is speedy and reliable.

"Our aim is always to develop long term partnerships with the businesses we deal with.  We have been so impressed by  Proactive Teamwear’s level of professionalism and the Jako Teamwear products, that we have already commenced preliminary discussions on extending our relationship with them."

Football Trade Directory's Commercial Director John Booth was delighted with the success of the partnership.

"This is fantastic news and underlines the importance of our Football Trade Directory Open Day events," Booth said.

"We are committed to putting football businesses in front of the key decision makers within the industry and Jako's success is the latest in a long line of partnerships and agreements that have been forged thanks to our hard work.

"We look forward to many more success stories and have many more FTD Open Day events in the pipeline."
