Whyte still confident of Rangers takeover

Craig Whyte is positive that a deal can be finalised for his takeover of Rangers Football Club before February.

Reports say that the negotiations with Sir David Murray, which have been ongoing since November, have taken longer than expected but the £33m deal is drawing nearer a conclusion.

The Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League champions had debts of £27m in September 2010 with manager Walter Smith told he will have to sell before he can buy in the January transfer window.
