Vauxhall linked with England sponsorship

British car manufacturer Vauxhall is expected to be named as the new sponsor of the England football team.

According to Marketing Magazine, talks are at advanced stages with FA general secretary Alex Horne and Vauxhall marketing director Peter Hope expected to reveal the deal in the coming weeks with the deal thought to be worth around £5m per year.

Concerns have been raised with potential issues with Fiat, who are current the official car suppliers of the England team.

Vauxhall would follow Nationwide who spent 11 years as England sponsor before ending its deal after a disappointing World Cup showing from Fabio Capello’s side.
