Nicolas Anelka is on his way to Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, while a host of clubs are keeping tabs on contract negociations that are ongoing with Didier Drogba over an extended deal.
Frank Lampard future at Stamford Bridge has also been put in doubt recently as he has been dropped to the bench.
"I want to play, simple as that," Lampard told BBC Sport. "I'm as fit as I've ever been. I've been in a good run of form and now I've not been playing.
"I haven't spoken [to Villas-Boas] so I don't know [why], simple as that."
Chelsea pair Florent Malouda and Salomon Kalou are also reported to be on their way as well to Russia.
Malouda is wanted by Anzhi Makhachkala, who are reported in the Daily Mirror are prepared to pay him a staggering £150,000-per-week salary. Kalou, whose deal expires at the end of the season, is wanted by both Lokomotiv Moscow and billionaire-backed Anzhi, who would be willing to double his current wages to £120,000-a-week.
Chelsea are ready to reported that they are considering a bid of £20m for Everton's Jack Rodwell.
Everton have a limited player budgets and manager David Moyes could well consider a large enough fee for the talented England midfielder as an option to strengthen his squad.
Andre Villas-Boas has said he is an admirer of the 20-year-old, and Chelsea boss could make a move when the window opens in the New Year.
