Coventry City Football Club’s ex vice chairman Gary Hoffman thinks that the npower Championship side should buy the Ricoh Arena to help turn its finances around.
Earlier this week it was revealed that owners SISU had injected further funds to help the Sky Blues avoid administration with new chairman Ken Dulieu warning that the club’s current position was not sustainable without further investment.
Hoffman, who left the club in February, has urged the club to purchase the stadium.
"I do think there is a great proposition with the stadium and football club combined. I am passionate about making that happen and helping all involved," Hoffman told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.
"I think we need investors that can invest in the football club and can buy the stadium in due course. That's something that's very important to turning the finances around," he added.
Owners SISU have lost around £25m since taking over City since 2007.
