Blue Square Bet North side Worcester City has been boosted by a new sponsorship deal with npower.
The two season, five figure deal will see energy provider npower’s logo appear on the back of City’s shirts.
The sponsorship is the latest in a series of initiatives designed to generate extra revenue. The club has also secured sponsorship of team coaches, received an upfront fee from a new catering contract, revamped its match day programme and revealed a newly refurbished club shop which will be run by Nutz4sport.
Richard Widdowson, of the club’s supporters’ trust, is pleased with the progress so far. He said: “The most important thing people need to know is that all our eggs are not in one basket for a new ground. We are running the club for toda, we are running it as it should be run.
“We are not waiting to see what may or may not happen in the next few years, so we are pulling out all the stops to maximise income.
“It’s going in the right direction. We are starting to change things around and get things going.”
He added: “We are still looking for more people to help us and that’s crucial.”
