The Staffordshire based caterer, whose past contracts include Crystal Palace, Darlington and Preston North End, has now strengthened its profile in the racecourse sector after its Bridles restaurant at Ffos Las racecourse was awarded the ‘Best New Catering Concept’ award at the first Piper Heidseick Champagne National Racecourse Catering Awards.
Established this year by Merbury Catering Consultants in association with Piper Heidsieck Champagne, the new Awards spanned 11 categories which recognised excellence in the standard of catering at UK racecourses.
On receiving the award Paula Street, Lindley Group’s Area Manager said: “Ffos Las is the first new racecourse to be built in the UK for 80 years and we wanted to create a fresh, contemporary and truly unique dining experience offering innovative and exciting menus reflecting the very best of local and seasonal produce.
“Winning this award is a real tribute and a tangible recognition that the team has achieved its aims, and that the dishes developed by Clive D’Angelo-Smith, Head Chef, in conjunction with Matthew Thomas, the General Manager at Ffos Las, have that ‘wow’ factor and a real a point of difference.”
Tim Long, Ffos Las Racecourse’s General Manager and Clerk of the Course, said: “As a racecourse, we take great pride in our use of local produce. Our caterer, the Lindley Group, focuses on making the most of the very best of local food and drink, and, of course, they employ local people. At a venue such as ours, food and service must be of the highest quality, and Lindley has delivered this in abundance in the Bridles Restaurant.”
