Blackburn Rovers scoop top award

align=justify>Blackburn Rovers Community Trust has won the Community Scheme of the Year 2010 award at the prestigious MBNA North West Football Awards.

The event which took place on Monday evening at Lancashire County Cricket Club's ground, attended by many famous faces from the world of football, celebrates the region's sporting prowess and accom­plishments, both on and off the pitch as chosen by a panel of judges with impeccable credentials in this field. 

In announcing the Community Scheme of the Year Award Paul Thorogood, Chief Executive of The Football Foundation, made special reference to the strength and breadth of education programmes delivered by the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust as well as the evident strong working relationship both with the Club and numerous other local partners in making a positive contribution to the community.
