Tottenham Hotspur Football Club’s plans to redevelop White Hart Lane have got the go ahead from the London Mayor.
Boris Johnson had the power to overturn Haringey Council’s decision to grant planning permission of a new 56 000 seater venue to be built on the site of the existing ground.
However The Press Association has reported that the plans have got the go ahead and, unless the government decides to intervene, the £450 million project can go ahead.
The news that Tottenham is staying put will be very welcome to fellow London club West Ham. The Hammers had been competing with Spurs for the rights to use the brand new Olympic Stadium after the London 2012 games.
