Toffees granted planning permission for housing project

Everton Football Club has been granted permission for a luxury housing development to be built on its former training ground at Bellefield.

The site, which has been unused by the Barclays Premier League club since it moved to new facilities at Finch Farm, Halewood three years ago, will be turned into a development of 74 luxury homes.

The club’s initial application was rejected two years ago by Liverpool City Council however due to changes in planning policies permission has now been granted.
Speaking of the development of the land on Sandforth Road, in the West Derby area of the city Everton CEO Robert Elstone said: " It has been a long, arduous and, at times, very difficult process but we are absolutely delighted to have finally won planning approval for the Bellefield site.

“We have always believed that high-quality housing represented the right way forwards for the site.”
