Accrington Stanley Football Club is hopeful it can meet a Football League deadline to bring the Crown Ground up to the required 5000 capacity.
The Npower League Two side have until the 31st December to meet the Football League’s rules, which state all grounds must have a 5000 capacity which includes 2000 seats. The club have had special dispensation since promotion in 2006 but this is not set to be extended.
Whilst the seating has been installed, the Crown Ground is still short, holding just over 4000 however chief executive Rob Heys is confident the work will be complete in time.
"I don’t think this deadline is movable and the Football League have been good with us so we want to do it out of respect for them," Heys said.
"We are on target to get the capacity up to 5,000 for the December 31 deadline, and hopefully that will be just in time for an FA Cup third round tie," he added.
