Rotherham United Football Club has been granted outline planning permission for its new stadium plans.
The planned £20million, 12,000 seater ground will take approximately two years to build and will see The Millers move from current home Don Valley Stadium
Speaking of the decision Rotherham Chairman Tony Stewart said: "We are delighted that the council have supported the application."
"This represents another significant step towards our goal of bringing the Millers back home to Rotherham and we're all determined to make Rotherham United a Football Club that everyone in the town can not only be proud of but will feel a part of too."
He continued: "We all want this stadium and will be a huge benefit to the town not just to its football club."
The club must now concentrate on obtaining full planning permission and the final approval by the Secretary of State.
