Brighton and Hove invest £2.7 million to meet premium seat demand

Npower League One side Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club has invested £2.7million to increase premium seating at the American Express Community Stadium.

The money will fund an extra 400 seats for members of the Seagulls hospitality service the 1901 Club. The decision follows “huge demand” for premium seating which has seen the existing 2109 allocation sold out nine months ahead of schedule.

Launched in June the 1901 Club was billed as “a new dimension in corporate entertainment” and “a wonderful location for business”. The project has been an “unprecedented sales success” and all of the 14 executive boxes sold out in March.

Chief executive Martin Perry said: “We are thrilled with the support we have received from the business community in Sussex.”
