Swindon Town FC have announced a new partnership with Samsung which will see the electronics giant sponsor the club’s third kit next season as well as launching a search for an unknown footballer to become a professional player with the club.
Players of all abilities can enter Samsung's 'Win A Pro Contract' competition with the winner to be offered a one-year professional playing contract with the League One side, who already have FourFourTwo magazine as a sponsor.
Swindon Town FC chief executive Nick Watkins said: "We are delighted to be part of the 'Win A Pro Contract' initiative and the nationwide search to identify one talented individual who will be offered a one year professional football contract.
"Swindon Town FC would be only too delighted if at the end of the project the new Charlie Austin was to be unearthed, as his success story is what many a childhood dream is made of."
The winning player will be given a boot deal by sports retailer JJB, and feature on the cover of FourFourTwo, as the football magazine charts the progress of the rookie professional.
Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson said: "This is a great idea which has got everyone at the club really excited.
"We're looking forward to working with Samsung and FourFourTwo to find a player who can make the step up."
