Leading sports manufacturer Mark Harrod Ltd will be sponsoring the popular crossbar challenge at upcoming footballing extravaganza Grass Roots Football Live 2010.
It’s the second time midlands based Mark Harrod Ltd have sponsored the challenge which pitches all comers against sporting legends, at the exhibition hosted by the NEC Birmingham.
As well as supplying all the goals at the three day event, Mark Harrod Ltd will also showcase its Soccerena, an indoor 30m x 21m indoor pitch, which will allow visitors to re-enact their favourite goals.
Mark Harrod said: “The Cross Bar Challenge will not only be great fun but also create an experience you’ll never forget. Plus it will be an excellent opportunity to be spotted as the next Cristiano Ronaldo by football managers.”
Mark Harrod Ltd will also be demonstrating their groundbreaking NetLok© system, a trio of clips that slot into aluminium goalposts and crossbars to provide unbeatable net security.
The NetLok© was designed for heavy use facilities and especially on freestanding goals used on synthetic or academy pitches.
Mark Harrod said: “Traditional net hooks have always been a headache for groundsmen when using freestanding goals. They can twist and turn with every goal before finally falling off and creating an instant safety hazard. Finding and replacing them is a time-consuming and frustrating task.”
Grass Roots Live gives visitors extraordinary access to the country's top-flight coaches and managers who share their experiences and divulge their trade secrets.
Alongside coaching demos, lively discussion and hot debate is the UK’s biggest football exhibition with everything needed to run a football club and team. And young players can spend the day in the Skills Zone receiving expert coaching.
Mark Harrod, who has more than 30 years experience as a manufacturer and supplier of sports equipment, is a leading advocate of sports safety with all equipment conforming to the latest British and European Standards.
As well as sponsoring grassroots events from the Staffordshire County Youth Cup to the Birmingham County FA Sunday Youth Cup, the Mark Harrod Ltd name can be seen at clubs including Chelsea FC, Birmingham FC and Leicester FC.
Last month Mark Harrod Ltd announced they would be joining the likes of David Beckham and Fabio Capello by backing the bid to bring World Cup 2018 to England.
