Referee Peter Quinn had an unlikely assistant when officiating at last months clash between North Riding Ladies and West Riding Ladies, his daughter Alice.
Junior Level Seven referee Alice joined her father on the pitch to take charge of the game. A unique occurrence in the refereeing world.
Dad Peter, a National List Level One referee said "When Alice started refereeing, I didn’t think this would happen as the opportunities to officiate together are very limited.
"I would like to thank the County Football Association for giving us this opportunity so early in Alice’s career and I hope that she can learn from this and go on to officiate at the highest level possible in the future."
Ross Joyce, the North Riding CFA’s Referee Development Officer, added: "This is the first time this has happened in the County and was a momentous occasion for both father and daughter."
