Southport FC is on the lookout for a new sponsor before the launch of the 2010/11 first team kit in the next couple of weeks.
Current backer Paymentshield has confirmed they will not be adding a fifth year to their partnership with the Conference team when their current deal expires at the end of June. Their decision not to renew comes after the insurance company was forced to make sixty redundancies in November.
Port Chairman Charlie Clapham is however confident they will find a new backer quickly and has already held preliminary discussion with some interested parties.
Clapham is also hopeful that Paymentshield may return to the Club in the future: “Whilst the sponsorship had been successful for both parties, Paymentshield felt they could no longer continue. The club were fully understanding and agreed we hoped this was only a ‘break’.
“Southport would like to place on record their thanks for the support we had from Paymentshield and their directors.”
