Sportsglobal Commercial Director, John Booth was one of the guests at the launch of the Funds4Clubs scheme organised by expanding Preston law firm, MWR Law. The event, held at Preston North End’s Guild Lounge was well attended by clubs and local sports personalities alike.
Guest of honour was the Mayor of Preston, Albert Richardson who applauded the scheme, saying: "It is a welcome change to see a law firm giving something back to the local community – normally the legal profession are seen as wanting to take money not give it away."
Senior Partner, Altaf Patel, in launching the scheme officially explained that the ‘Funds4Clubs’ applied to any club, not just football or sports even. Scouts and guides, drama groups, hobby groups and the like can register just as well. To be eligible for ‘Funds4Clubs’ there is a simple registration at www.mwrlaw.com and once registered clubs then receive a donation for any clients introduced to MWR law.
MWR are specialists in that they look after the needs of individuals not companies, whether it be wills and probate, matrimonial, accident claims, house sale or purchase or any other general legal work, they can help.
"We think the scheme is ideal for grass roots clubs, and we are promoting the idea through footballtradedirectory.com" explains John Booth.
"We have already helped set up a scheme for the new Evostik League which will be available to all member clubs shortly, and any interested club can either contact me for details, or Jayne Raven at MWR law."
