Party supplier Amscan UK has unveiled its ‘Pride, Passion, Party’ range of reusable England merchandise in time for this summer’s World Cup tournament.
The Milton Keynes based company has designed a collection alongside legendary goalkeeper Gordan Banks with the intention that fans keep hold of the merchandise and reuse it the next time they are backing a national sporting side.
“A lot of merchandise is designed to be used for one campaign and then thrown away,” said Adrian Ellis, managing director of Amscan UK. “But our range is designed to last and enable fans to use it for a multitude of other England occasions.
“Pride, Passion, Party is about supporting all events where the nation becomes united.”
The red and white England line includes balloons, face paint, hats, horns, paper plates, cups and a whole host of other party goods and is available from Argos and many independent card and party shops.
This summer’s World Cup in South Africa is expected to top the 19 billion Euros generated worldwide by the 2006 tournament in Germany and Amscan UK are hoping to cash in on this growing sector.
Amscan UK, part of US-based Amscan Holdings International, has seen party sales soar despite the global financial crisis. The category is growing 20 per cent year on year. In the UK Amscan supply around 12,000 products to more than 1,000 retailers.
