Ridsdale denies permanent involvement with Plymouth Argyle

Peter Ridsdale, the former chairman of Championship football clubs Leeds United and Cardiff City, has spoken out to deny rumors linking him to a permanent role at troubled Plymouth Argyle.

Earlier this month Plymouth Argyle and related company Home Park Properties was issued with a winding up order over a £760,000 HM Revenue and Customs bill and was given 63 days to clear its debts.

Ridsdale admits that he has been consulted by the club saying: "During recent weeks I have been in discussions with representatives of shareholders in Plymouth Argyle Football Club with regard to the ongoing need for investment and help,"

However he is keen to stress that the position is just temporary saying: "As soon as the areas in which I am continuing to work have been completed, I will no longer be involved in the club."
