Digital Sports Media specialists Perform have renewed their contract with the Barclays Premier League. The three year deal, which comes into affect from the beginning of next season, will see them continue to produce mobile and internet clips for the league’s website.
London based Perform, who currently run the Barclay’s Premier League site, will continue to ‘ingest, edit and encode’ as many as 4,500 Barclays Premier League clips every match day and distribute them as 'near live' highlights around the globe.
In addition Perform will also provide a new range of services including creating bespoke language versions for Spanish, Arabic, German and Italian speaking licensees. They will also offer improved formats to ensure the clips are optimised for next generation smart phones and high bandwidth internet services.
"This is an exciting evolution in the service that we currently provide for our valued international licensees," said Paul Molnar, head of media operations at the Premier League. "Perform have proven over the last three years that they can deliver a highly innovative production and technical solution."
Oliver Slipper, joint-chief executive of Perform said: "We have been working in a number of capacities for the Premier League over the past three years and are very pleased to be extending our production partnership with them. We really believe the additional distribution solutions will provide the Premier League's mobile and internet licensees with fantastic new opportunities to reach and engage fans."
